The United States Space Force (USSF) is the sixth branch of the United States Armed Forces. The youngest branch of the U.S Armed Forces, the branch holds control over military operations in outer space. It absorbed the operations and duties of the Air Force Space Command, a unit inside the United States Air Force that handled and supported most of the country's military operations until 2107.

The USSF traces its origins to the Arctic Project, a project intended to weaponize satellites, and give them the capabilities of orbital bombardment during the Third World War. Officially founded on 11 September, 2107, the USSF is the largest Space Force in the known galaxy. The official USSF played it's first major role in the Secession Wars (2176-2180).

The Space Force is administratively managed by the Department of Space, which is headed by the civilian Secretary of Space. The Department of Space is itself a division of the Department of Defense, which is headed by the Secretary of Defense. The Chief of Space Operations (CSO) is the most senior naval officer serving in the Department of Space.
