The United States presidential election of 2020, was held on Tuesday, November 3, 2020, and was the 59th quadrennial U.S. presidential election. Voters selected presidential electors who in turn elected a new president and vice president through the electoral college. The Republican nominee, incumbent president Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence, defeated the Democratic nominee, former Vice President Joe Biden and his running mate, former Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick.
