The Spread of The WEST SIAMESE EPIDERMIS INFALMITORY ACUTE RESPITORY VIRUS or The West Thai Virus was unecpected by many, it started slow, soon becoming a South-East Asian Epidemic and then ripping across the globe in a deadly wildfire that crippled the richest of nations.

17th October: 1/0

A 43 year old wealthy pig farmer named Seni Montri becomes Patient Zero after removing the body of one of his dead pigs who was infected.

19th October:  4/0

Seni Montri begins showing symptoms. He spreads the disease to his Wife, 9 year old son and 20 year old daughter who goes to college in Bangkok.

21st October:  11/0

Seni's daughter, Apasra Montri leaves for Bangkok. Her father sent his life savings to send her to college. Seni's family begins to show symptoms. Apasra infects several people on her train.

23rd October:    22/0

Seni is taken to the local clinic for examination. It is dismissed as the flu. Four people are infected. Apasra infects some of her friends and her boyfriend and many at the Train station.

25th October:  47/0

By now many of the People Apasra infected have started getting symptoms as well as those in the village back in Mae Sot. The overcrowding of Bangkok proves the perfect accelerant for the disease.

26th October:  58/2

Senai passes away as does his Nine year old Son. The reason is unknown. Fears grow as his wife appears to be going through the same thing her realatives did. Fear grows in the small community. Apasra is rushed to the hospital after experiancing a collapse in her apartment she rented with her friends. Senai's pigs are slaughtered and sold to the local butcher to pay for medication for his wife, Chaem Choi. The meat is eaten throughout the community infecting many.

27th October: 128/5

Two of the people at the clinic Seni visited die. His wife dies and Thailand's government expresses concern over Apasra and move her into isolation, she infects several medical staff and twelve patients. The basic reproduction number (the average number of other individuals whom each infected individual will infect, in a population which has no immunity to the disease) at this point was 3.1

28th October: 183/5

Many people in the small Mae Sot village begin to show symptoms, The infection spreads like wildfire.

31st October:   212/14

Many people begin to die in Bangkok. The Thai government begins to try and get people into quarantine but hte infection, highly contagious is almost out of control. They take a controversial decison and prevent any domestic travel in and out of Bangkok. Apasra dies in isolation.

Bodies are burned in Mae Sot

The Thai government realises that the infection is in the Mae Sot region. A bus to Chiang Mai in northern Thailand, the most populas city in Northern Thailand of over 1 million, from Mae Sot, infects the city. Military and disinfectant teams are deployed around Bangkok, keeping people out of the part of the city reporting the disease. The Media begins to get drawn to the outbreak. The Mae Sot region is quarantined and bodies are burned. 

3rd November: 587/ 43

Monsoon Ruang Sak hits Thailand, this allows the disease to spread quick. Burmese migrants flee back to Burma after the quarantine is announced. Unknowingly, they carry the disease, infecting Hpa-an. The Media draws even more attention to the outbreak, panic begins to set in in Bangkok and several riots take place. Thailand declares a National state of emergency. 

5th November: 1,845/98

Martial law is declared, a BBC news report showing the symptoms and the spread of the disease, people panic at how fast it spreads but the British government announces like Ebola, there is very little threat posed to the UK by Unknown disease. The disease is examined in a lab and named WEST SIAMESE EPIDERMIS INFALMITORY ACUTE RESPITORY VIRUS, which the media dubbs The West Thai Virus. Public Transport is shut down in all infected regions in Thailand aswell as large meeting places. 2,468 people thought to have been in contact with the infected are home quarantined.

The USA and many European governments send aid in both the forms of health workers and money to Thailand.
