[edit] Charged AtomsRule #1: Immediately following the central character of the modifier with the charge, write in the sign of the charge (this is neither superscript nor subscript.) |
[edit] Charged MoleculesRule #2: For molecules in which a string has multiple charges, the charge signs are written after the central character, from subscript to interim to superscript (or skipping interim if there are only two) according to the former to latter atom in the string. Rule #3: For charged molecules, end the molecule name with a close-bracket sign and add the molecule's charge after it as superscript. |
