The Unified States of Slavic Eastern Europe and Greater Poland, or The United States of Eastern Europe and also known commonly as the Eastern Bloc has been Unified since 2037 During The Nato-BRIC Conflict in Europe, as the US pumped money into Poland as a counter to Russianization. After The Fascist Wars, which saw Russia under the rule of Ultra-Nationalists, Poland and surrounding countries were invaded. The Slavic Union was established. After the defeat of NATO, the Russian Political Crisis of 2055 led to the independance of the entire bloc of invaded Eastern European countries. Thus it was dubbed "The Eastern Bloc"

Although it had gained it's independence, it served as a puppet state of the Slavic Union until 2067.

Government

The Capital is in Warsaw, a rather important city in Europe in 2189 as it is the headquarters of the United Eurasian Economic Union. The Wilanow Palace has replaced the various Parliaments as the Parliament of the United States of Slavic Eastern Europe and Greater Poland.

Politics

Warsaw

Warsaw, 2189

The Multi-Party system has benefited the country greatly since it's founding, as it didn't restric thought between two alike ideologies, it also prevented corruption, as with most Europeans, the Peoples of the Eastern Bloc see themselves as sophicticated compared to the outside world when it comes to politics, a remnant of the European Imperialism of the 19th and 20th century. Most Citizens are highly Political, and often debates can be heard whilst partaking in leisurely activities. As of 2189 there were 5 major parties in the Country.

The Eastern Bloc is members of the UN the World Court, the United Planets and Countries of the Milky Way, The World Trade Organization and the Inter-Galactic Trade Organization.

Economy

The Eastern Bloc has one of the largest ecnomies in Europe. It has a Market Socialist economy, with a large labour force of robotic workers. Most Humans who even bother working work in areas such as science, the arts, history and creativity. Almost every worker works in the service sector. The poverty rate in 2187 was 0.017%, which is inpart due to the benefits one recieves from being human in the country. At age 15 each citizen is given a car, a apartment and begins life. As much of the labour work is taken by robots people are free to chase their dreams, such as learning guitar or hiking the Himalayas. Because of this, things such as the book, music and other creative-made areas have seen a boost in growth by almost 8000% since the intoduction of Robots to the workplace in 2051 in this area of the then Slavic Union.

Culture

The Eastern Bloc is known for it's diverse and lively culture, such as dancing, folklore and mystery. With places such as Transylvania in it's borders it's no doubt why it is the second biggest tourist destination after Franco-Iberia.

Because of this wide geographical spread there are some other notable differences between these countries, for example Czechs are generally non-confrontational while a Slovak or a Pole will be more straight forward and outspoken with their opinion. It’s a taboo to shake hands at the doorway for a Pole but acceptable for other countries.

Poles and Estonians are more formal and written-detail oriented while Slovaks and Czechs prefer a good presentation and a longer negotiation process.

Another important difference is linguistics – this is due to a wide geographical spread. Though the majority of the Eastern European region, countries belong to the Slavic group of languages – Czech, Slovak and Polish. There are also other language groups in this region – for example Latvian and Lithuanian belong to the Baltic group whilst the Romanian language has Latin origins and is very close to Italian and Spanish. Hungarian and Estonian languages belong to Finno-Ugric group.
