From Future

Intercepting sensory inputs and outputs: page seems to say that optic fiber nerves are 0.4 micrometers in diameter. We presently use 0.18 micrometers in some computer chips. old article says Intel thinks it can make 0.07 micrometer wires in chips. page from 2003 says that there are .13 micron, (or 130 nanometer) chips. Here's Intel 2004 saying they have 90 nm technology. So, I don't know- I suppose it's realistic to expect that we should be able to collect and generate signal to intercept the 400 nm axons in the optic nerve. Actually, I would expect that we would be able to do this soon, like... Within the decade, if it it hasn't been done already.
