I apologize that I haven't taken the time to completely make it "fit in." Because it's rooted in CommunityWiki and TaoRiver Futures wiki, some of the links may be inappropriate. (Then again, maybe they aren't?) The article is almost certainly malformed, by the vision of this wiki.
I will have absolutely no hurt feelings if this article is changed, rearranged, whatever'ed. It likely needs some work to really "fit in."
My idea is that the more refined pages on the TaoRiver futures wiki should be copied over here (TaoRiver Futures wiki is PD,) and then hammered and reformed to fit the structure of this site.
I am actually testing a theoretical basis for this: CommunityWiki:PublicRefineryProcess, CommunityWiki:HubAndSpokeWikis, CommunityWiki:InterCommunityCooperation. My hope is that it will work. :)
- I really like your ideas (re wiki/info/social/knowledge/etc. stuff) at the community wiki. Thanks for adding speech rec. - It's hard work refactoring text, especially since I realise that we think and write quite differently. This is only natural though, since the final accepted writing style has not developed either here or at Futures Wiki. P.S. Please comment on the reedit. Paranoid 15:43, 14 Aug 2005 (UTC)

Re, in particular, ubiquitous transcripts:
With my tongue only slightly in-cheek, I wonder what lawyers will do? (Who, again, perhaps somewhat tongue-in-cheek, are described as being trained never to put anything in writing.) Or corporate CEOs, politicians, press secretaries, etc.
I don't intend to propose an answer, could go a number of different ways. I hope it goes well for "humanity".

I'm currently reading a PDF text that I downloaded from the Web entitled Survery of the State of the Art in Human Language Technology, which I highly recommend to anyone who needs a primer on the topic and/or needs to bring themselves up to speed and/or up to date.
