- Yes, of course. The Civ tech tree is the thing that inspires us all. :) I wonder, who came first with the idea when making Civ1. When I was watching Connections (old documentary series by BBC [1] [2]), I was surprised at the appreciation I got for the Civ tech tree, so much sense it made. The Civ designers managed to select just the right advances, the ones that had the greatest impact and the connections between them are extremely well thought out as well.
- I have been on the lookout for a way to make such tech. trees efficiently for some time (at least 3 years since this paper, for example). But I still haven't found an easy tool that would be well suited for creation and modification of technology trees. Most things I tried "break down" when the number of technologies reaches a few dozens.
- Something that would combine the clearness of a timeline, provide an illustration to the interconnections and would be easy to generate and change... If something like this could be found, it should definitely be deployed alongside the textual content of this wiki. Paranoid 12:30, 8 Sep 2005 (UTC)
