Rams RB Todd Gurley walks away with both season and Super Bowl MVP Eagles second string quarterback Nick Foles walks away with Super Bowl MVP in a historic performance while Patriots QB Tom Brady takes season MVP.
  • Winter Olympics: The 2018 Winter Olympics are hosted by Pyeongchang, South Korea.
  • NCAA Men's Basketball: Gonzaga Villanova defeats Kentucky Michigan in the Division I Championship game. Gonzaga Villanova guard Silas Melson Donte DiVincenzo graduates as the tournament's Most Outstanding Player.
  • NBA: The Golden State Warriors repeat the Finals, this time defeating the Boston Celtics in seven games as the Cleveland Cavilers had been knocked out of the playoffs in the second round. Warriors forward Kevin Durant claims the Finals MVP title, while season MVP goes to James Harden of the Houston Rockets.
  • FIFA World Cup: The 2018 FIFA World Cup is held in Russia. Belgium France beats defending champion Germany Croatia to clench the title.
  • NFL: 2013 Heisman Trophy winner and Tampa Bay Buccaneers Quarterback Jameis Winston is suspended indefinitely after mounting rape and sexual harassment allegations.
  • NFL: Commissioner Roger Goodell steps down and is replaced by Executive Vice President of Football Operations Troy Vincent, the first Black Commissioner in League history.

2019

  • NFL: The Los Angeles Rams win the team's first Lombardi trophy since the the Rams returned to the West Coast after defeating the Jacksonville Jaguars 24-10. Rams Running Back Todd Gurley barrels his way to both season and Super Bowl MVP. Pittsburgh QB Ben Roethlisberger retires in the weeks following the game.
  • NCAA Men's Basketball: Gonzaga edges Duke to win the Division I Championship. Zag Guard Geno Crandall puts on a dominate performance to carry Most Outstanding Player before being drafted by the Sacramento Kings.
  • NBA: The Boston Celtics dethrone the Golden State Warriors in six games. Kyrie Irving is named Finals MVP, while Oklahoma City Thunder PG Russell Westbrook had previously won season MVP.

2020

  • NFL: The L.A Rams repeat their Super Bowl victory after a 23 - 17 test of offense v. defense against the Dallas Cowboys. Rams Quarterback Jared Goff's 2 touchdowns and 320 yards propels him to game MVP, while Cowboys Running Back Ezekiel Elliott had prior emerged out of a tight three way race between himself, Seahawks QB Russell Wilson, and Packers QB Aaron Rodgers for season MVP.
  • NBA: Having regained Kevin Durant in the off season, the Oklahoma City Thunder sweep the Milwaukee Bucks in the Finals to bring the Thunder's first trophy back to OKC. Russell Westbrook earns both season and Finals rings.
  • Summer Olympics: The 2020 Summer Olympics are hosted by Tokyo, Japan.
  • NFL: 2012 Heisman winner Johnny "Money" Manziel makes his return to the NFL with the New York Giants.
  • NFL: In the summer, the Raiders finish their move to Las Vegas.

2021

  • NFL: The Minnesota Vikings withstand Carson Wentz and the Philadelphia Eagles to win Minnesota's first Lombardi trophy. Vikings Linebacker Anthony Barr carries game MVP, while season MVP goes to Denver Broncos Quarterback Case Keenum.
  • NBA: The Oklahoma City Thunder fend off John Wall and the Washington Wizards in six games. Kevin Durant swipes Finals MVP.

2022

  • NFL: The Greenbay Packers defeat the Houston Texans 51 - 13. Aaron Rodgers ends his career with a Lombardi and Super Bowl MVP.
  • Winter Olympics: The 2022 Winter Olympics are hosted by Beijing, China.
  • NBA: LeBron James' reinvented Los Angeles Lakers top the Atlanta Hawks in the seventh game of the heated Finals. James wins season and Finals MVP.

2023

  • NFL: For the first time in League history, a team wins the Super Bowl in their home stadium as the San Francisco 49'ers defend their castle of Levi's Stadium against the Cincinnati Bengals' high powered defense. Jimmy Garappolo swipes Super Bowl MVP.

2024

  • NFL: In a rematch of Super Bowl XLVII, the Baltimore Ravens again upset the 49'ers. Joe Flacco retires with Super Bowl MVP.
  • Summer Olympics: The 2024 Summer Olympics are hosted by Paris, France.
