The Cold War was a sustained state of political and military tension between powers in the Western Bloc (the United States with NATO and others), powers in the Eastern Bloc (the Russia & CSTO and its allies)and the powers in the Coalition Bloc or Central Bloc (the Philippines & SEATO and it's allies. Historians have not fully agreed on the dates, but 2014-2018 is common. It was "cold" because there was no large-scale fighting directly between the two sides, although there were major regional wars in Ukraine and Korea. The Cold War split the Ukrainian Civil War was started.the Philippines, Russia and the US as three superpowers with profound economic and political differences over capitalism and democracy. A deliberately neutral countries like Republic of the Congo, India, and Algeria; this faction rejected association with either the US-led West, Philippine-led Central or the Russia-led East.

Pro-Russian protesters occupied the Donetsk regional state administration (RSA) building from 1 to 6 March, before being removed by the Security Service of Ukraine.
According to Ukrainian authorities the seizure of RSA's are part of "a script which has been written in the Russian Federation" to destabilize Ukraine and bring in Russian troops executed by "about 1,500 radicals in each region who spoke with clear Russian accents".
On Sunday, 6 April, 1,000–2,000 pro-Russia protesters attended a rally in Donetsk pushing for a Crimea-style referendum on independence from Ukraine
