By the year 2060, all the monarchies had disappeared; the only reminder of their families' respective fame would be from Wikipedia, YouTube and through closed-source history websites. Those that were left were mostly figureheads that had no real power. Buckingham Palace will be seized by the government and sold at auction for 100 billion Euros to a private purchasing company.

Summary[]

By the beginning of the 22nd century, the idea of ruling a country by birthright, rather than through democratic election, will be dismissed as an obsolete gesture from a less globalized time. All monarchies (absolute and constitutional) will be abolished as the world turns into a single global nation under the rule of a worldwide federal government. All the monarchies in the world will cease to exist, including the British Royal Family and the Saudi Royal Family (who are currently strongly entrenched in their national cultures).

This feeling will even be felt in former British Commonwealth countries who still have the British king and/or Queen as a head of their state. The abolition of all the monarchies will not occur through homicide or incest. Rather, they will realize that the people should be ruled completely by themselves and renounce centuries (and even millenia of aristocratic rule). Penniless, these ex-monarchs are forced to temporarily depend on welfare cheques to sort out a meager living as "newly-crowned" commoners in their former realms and kingdoms. However, some of them will slowly regain their fortunes and holdings with the help of stay-at-home work programs. These programs will allow former members of the monarchy to become businessmen, online public school teachers, professors, researchers, scientists, doctors, lawyers, and even electricians.
