By the year 2040, all hospitals from Anchorage, Alaska to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil will be funded nearly entirely by the corporate community along with public schools. The first hospitals to become sponsored by corporate providers include Taco Bell-view Hospital (Los Angeles), McDonald's Hospital (Hamilton), and New York General Hospital sponsored by NAPA Auto Parts (New York City).

Rationale

Hospitals will become subsidiaries of huge corporations and conglomerates instead of government institutions due to the government's lackluster handling of funding for hospitals. The only branches of the government free from corporate funding will be the armed forces (only robots can serve in combat duty thanks to the Universal Peace Charter of 2037), the police, the fire fighters, the people who organize all the elections and the census bureau. Nursing jobs will make a comeback once corporate dollars start picking up the slack where government cutbacks leave hospital high and dry.

As the government slowly pulls out of healthcare funding, the health care system will get worse until there is a crisis. The Government of Candamerica will finally permit corporate intervention in order to solve the health care crisis. Medicine will become about preventing diseases instead of treating them.
