Until the 2030s, a 99-year lease will be imposed on people who are unable to own property in capitalist countries (i.e., people with autism or other people on a disability pension) and is used in lieu of a mortgage. In the future, 99-year leases will no longer be used on disabled people as they will be able to have full time jobs thanks to mental enhancements. However, they will still be used in socialist and communist countries for everyone until the 22nd century.
