RyansWorld: 2nd Cuban Revolution

The 2nd Cuban Revolution which lasted from 2013 to 2017 was a successful attempt to finally remove the communist regime of Cuba. In its place, the Cuban people (under the veil of being a protectorate of the Republic of Canadamerica) slowly developed a free market capitalist society that finally matured into a "developed country" by the year 2041. The leader of the revolution, Jose Pablo Santos, was heavily funded by Canadamerica with both money and weapons. Most favored nation trade status was granted to the island by Canadamerica in 2027 and Havana received Cuba's only National Football League team in the year 2037 (which goes by the name Revolucionarios De Havana).

After the revolution, hundreds of millions of dollars in temporary Canadamerican aid was given to this protectorate so that the governor didn't have to raise the taxes (and risk becoming another Fulgencio Batista). This lasted until the year 2042, when Cuba reached equal economic and political stabilty as Canadamerica proper. By the end of the 21st century, even this "little island gem" was absorbed into the United States of Earth and the first Cuban astronaut entered outer space on November 9, 2086.
