The city of Miyako, also known as Seattle, is a city in New Shōtoku. It is one of the three most prosperous cities on the West Coast, with the other two being San Francisco and Los Angeles in Mexico.
Following the collapse of the United States in 2035, Seattle became a part of the newly established nation of Oregon. Seattle soon became a major location for the Oregonian Air Force base, and was one of the main locations for building military aircraft.
In the Vinlandian War, the city was the site of a major battle between the Oregonian forces and the Allied forces, and the city suffered major damage. After Oregon's defeat, the city was occupied by both Chinese and Japanese forces.
In 2110, three years after the war, a major earthquake had struck the Cascadia subduction zone that measured 9.1 on the moment magnitude scale. It caused further damage to the city which was in the process of being rebuilt, and much of the infrastructure had collapsed. The iconic Space Needle, which survived the war narrowly, had managed to withstand the earthquake, though was later effected by the fires that had emerged from the disaster.
As a result of the disaster, the city took 33 years to recover and rebuild itself, even with the help of international aid. Since 2145, the city has been rebuilt, with several of the old buildings and the Space Needle being restored and rebuilt, along with new buildings inspired by Chinese and Japanese cities. Much of the city during reconstruction has been designed to be able to withstand intense earthquakes and better prepared.
In 2192, Seattle expanded to include the rest of King County, along with Snohomish, Skagit, Pierce, Thurston, Mason, Kitsap, and San Juan counties.
