John A. Olszewski, Jr. (September 10, 1982 - April 7, 2077) was an American Democratic and Progressive politician who served as Governor of Maryland from 2039 until 2047. In 2044, he ran as a "New Progressive" to challenge President Ricky Dobbs, winning the Progressive Party's Presidential nomination but failed to unseat Dobbs, though he placed second in the popular vote and electoral college. Olszewski, a moderate in his party, governed Maryland during the state's 2040s economic boom. He served as a Maryland Delegate from 2006 until 2023, when he was elected to the state Senate. He served as Senate Majority Leader from 2029 until his election to the Governorship.
