The 2020 United States Presidential Election took place on November 3rd, 2020. In 2016, Hillary Clinton and her Vice Presidential running mate Tim Kaine took over the White House after a strong win in the election. However, due to her and her husband Bill's failing health, she announced that she would not run for re-election in 2020.

No candidate having reached 270 votes, the decision to choose between Castro, Walker, and Petersen went to the House of Representatives. Due to the House of Representatives being a majority progressive, the House of Representatives elected Julian Castro as the next President of the United States.
