The Trans-Arctic Highway is a highway network going from Stockholm, Sweden to Ottawa, Ontario.
Ground was first broken on the highway in June 2015. Due to the arctic conditions of the route, it took 2 years to reach the Bering Strait on the Russian side. The tunnel would take an additional 6 months to complete. In 2018 the road reached Nunavut in Canada's capital, Iqualut. A tunnel went under the Hudson Strait connecting the road to Quebec. In 2019 the highway finally reached its end point, Ottawa. The highway opened in 2019 and is still serving traffic.
