The Russo-Ukrainian War was a conflict fought between the Russian Federation and Ukraine from 2015 to 2018.

The war had it's origins when Russia annexed the former Soviet land mass of Crimea. The war would escalate, when Russia would attempt to expand up their gains in Crimea and take over more of the country, eventually announcing their intentions to invade the entire nation of Ukraine, leading to subsequent duel war declarations from Kiev and Moscow.

Following interventions on behalf of Ukraine by the US, UK and the Baltic States, Russia would end up withdrawing from almost all of Ukraine excluding Crimea, which was eventually recognized as part of Russia by the world, with the last country to do being Ukraine.
