The United States presidential election of 2016 was the 58th quadrennial Presidential Election. It saw Marco Rubio become the POTUS of the United States by 118 electoral votes, 11 states carried, a higher perecentage and 6,446,737 more votes.

Even though Hillary Clinton was in the lead most of the way through the Presidential campaign, the Republicans took over in the final few months. Hillary took a massive drop in the polls. Marco Rubio himself was trailing behind in the polls to become the elected nominee for the Republicans. Throughout the campaign it was looking to be either Trump or Bush.

At the last minute, Bush dropped out and joined as Marco Rubio's running mate. Trump took a massive downfall in the polls, which made Marco Rubio very popular. He then went on to become the Republican elected nominee and then the new President.
