|World War III|
|Result||Brazil, United Asia, United States, United Kingdom and Scandinavia (Germany) dominate the world.|
The World War III (also called Third World War or BRIC war) was a large-scale destructive global conflict between the emerging economies known as the BRICs and the developed world which occurred from 2012 to 2019. Resulting in the complete destruction of many large cities and the deaths of 90.5 million people, it was the most devastating and deadly conflict in all of history, changing the diplomatic relations of the world forever. The only positive feature of the conflict was the absence of nuclear weapons, due to unanimous fulfillment of previous ecological agreements even in war times.
In 2010, the BRICs held their second meeting in Brasília, the capital of Brazil. This time, the main subject was not economics, but military affairs. The four countries planned a hegemonic revolution and agreed to declare war on the developed countries in order to politically and economically take over the world. During the two following years, the BRICs extensively trained their military forces, preparing to the greatest war of all time.
In 2012, the BRICs officially declare war on several developed countries, members of the OECD and other elite supranational organizations. The initial objective was to attack its most important cities. In response, the OECD countries selected their best fighters for the war.
The first attack occurs on March 24 in London. Large buildings such as The Houses of Parliament were destroyed 2.5% of the population was killed in five minutes. The Brazilian armed forces travel north towards the United States and across the Pacific towards Australia. Russian forces attack Italy, destroying the Colosseum and other historical landmarks. Florida is attacked by Brazilian and other forces from the south, and Los Angeles by Chinese forces from the west. Latin forces arrive New York City and destroy the Statue of Liberty, along with several skyscrapers in Manhattan including the Empire State and the Chrysler Building. Unprepared, Los Angeles is alaso devastated, with the death toll accounting for 22% of the population.
The OECD countries finally manage to move their armed forces, and successfully stop the invasion of New York City, albeit failing to save Los Angeles, which loses an additional of 6% of its population, totaling 28%. Three days later, attacks against the United Kingdom by Russian forces end up exterminating nearly 60% of the population of Greater London. In the far east, China-Japan conflicts are frequent, and about 20% of the population of the the Japan Sea and East China Sea perish among fires and battles.
By June, almost half of the population of the Pacific shore around the world is dead. Many governments of neutral nations and nongovernmental organizations aiming to promote peace attempt to stop the war via campaigns, but they are not successful. The following months, certain subconflicts of the war are given names: the war between the U.S. and Latin countries is named "War of the Americas" and the conflict between Japan and China was called "War in the Far East", among others. Troops from Australia and several European countries attack Africa (Europe from the north and Austraia from the east). Many countries in these regions fought with an unprepared army in undeveloped cities, so they were destroyed in less than a day. However, China and Brazil take the conquered areas shortly after. The Pak-Afghan Republic, although militarily stored, had no money to sustain survival even for three weeks. Without no Chinese support (as China and India aligned with each other), the military has to give up its draconian policies after a massive invasion by India. India, with limited Russian and Chinese help, is able to subdue most of the Middle East by creating an Ofcorp (a union of the most experienced and most ruthless soldiers and mercenaries of all time) and integrating it with the army. It is able to settle disputes between Iran and Israel and as a result got additional support and recognition in the region. This also made Israel neutral but leaning to the BRIC. The holy cities were handed over to a single modern religious organisation, The United Islamic Justice Front which became a subordinate to the BRICs. Unlike Brazil, China and Russia, India retains all cities in the Middle East for further economic development.
In early 2013, most coast cities in the United States are completely destroyed due to military attacks from all four BRICs. Now the financial and military centers of the country are concentrated in towns located in the center of the nation, like Chicago. However, European nations are in different situations, because their offensives were successful in Brazil and Russia. The armies destroyed the Christ the Redeemer statue, and killed nearly 30% of the population of Rio de Janeiro. Although the attacks focused mainly in Rio de Janeiro, other cities on the northeast coast of the country are also attacked - but the armies did not attack cities south from Rio de Janeiro. Altogether, about 11-12% of Brazilian population is killed.
In May, Canada announces to the United States that they will join the war and prepare its forces for the next month. Canadian troops are prepared to attack China. In July, Canada joins the United States to form a one great nation, inspiring many other irredentist movements around the world. In September, they reconquer the West and East coasts. Chicago becomes the capital and largest city in the US-Canada union, due to its strategical location in the Great Lakes region. At the end of October, China invades and conquers the states of Alaska and Hawaii. The U.S. does not react towards China. Much of the funding for the war on the BRICs side came mainly from oil supplies through tariff free internal trade and exploitative external aid. So although all OPEC countries claimed to be neutral they were under Indian suzerainty and sold oil to the US and Europe. Later, Brazilian troops invade most of Central America and the Caribbean. China, India and Russia combine to form a single socialist nation: United Asia. UA is the largest, most populous and most powerful state in history. UA attacks Japan, bombing Osaka, Yokohama and parts of Tokyo. Later, UA invites Brazil to become part of UA in an attempt to form the ultimate BRIC supernation, but Brazil refuses believing they are too far apart from each other both geographically and culturally, and many problems could emerge from this.
The United States invades and conquers most of North Africa. The war continues with major skirmishes until the middle of 2016, when Britain finally recovers their territories bombed and annexes Italy after an agreement. Germany joins Scandinavia and parts of Eastern Europe and declares itself out of the war, what is internationally recognized by both sides shortly after. In January to February 2017, Iceland is annexed by US-Canada. Brazil attacks Greece, whilst UA attacks Turkey. Both invasions are successful. UA declares war on Australia, but the Australian government offers a permanent peace treaty for $45 billion. UA accepts the proposal, and so do Indonesia and most Pacific Islands. In March 2018, UA is the largest country in the world, and becomes the only nation in history to control the entire coast of an ocean (the Indian Ocean). The United States conquers parts of Eastern Europe (right next to Brazilian-conquered territories).
In late 2019, OECD countries offer a large sum of money ($78 billion) to stablish world peace and finally stop the war. UA agrees but also demands that each country give some of their territories. The war ends in November 25, 2019 and peace has been recognized worldwide.
World peace is fully recognized in November 23, 2019, and small fights continue until early 2020. The demographics of the world (economics, population, geography, etc.) are completely changed. United Asia, Brazil and the United States (in that order) became the three great nations of the world. And even after a world war, the resumed diplomatic relations creates important economic partners. However, the two smaller nations of Europe (United Kingdom and Germany, later called Scandinavia) remain cautious towards the rest of the globe. Humanity begins to rebuild its cities in a new eco-friendly world. Since the war belligerents have agreed not to use nuclear weapons due to threats to the global ecosystem, the environment was not affected. The world is fully reconstructed only by the 2120.
